BBC One London really messed the top of the hour intro into the news
What did they do?
They cut to a silent shot of Riz instead of the BBC One ident.
They cut to BBC London News studio with Riz, then we saw the opening story of the headline sequence of the news, before cutting back to a dead silent BBC One ident, no announcer, and straight then into Huw starting the bulletin. Tiny bit messy.
So it's likely that this time next week, BBC News will be looking something like this (with title/sentence case not capitals)...
While this animation would really suit a flipper at the bottom on the News Channel rather than a ticker, I still can't see that happening as - from what people have said here - what the BBC wants is flexibility, and a ticker provides that more than a flipper.
So will the DOG/clock/ticker remain virtually the same just with the BBC News logo and text in Reith? Or perhaps a white background for the clock and ticker?
That style of 'graphic sliding out of nowhere' is really in fashion at the moment. Every new piece of TV design seems to use it to the point where it's being overused and feels generic.

I hope not. I’d like to see something a little different if I’m honest. The current style takes up a lot of the screen in my opinion and doesn’t show off the branding well. My favourite current part of the branding is the side bar that comes in with facts, though I think this is more for breaking news generally.

Well it's pretty much been confirmed on here that that's going to be the new BBC News lower thirds across the board.
