Here's a question for you all, I wasn't sure where to post it but I guess it is more applicable to BBC News than BBC World News... When a channel or programme has to switch studios should they try and replicate the look of their usual set or embrace the differences? I'm thinking more when they use studio A, should they just embrace the capabilities of being in the virtual studio than trying to recreate a studio they're not in? Kind of like when the BBC World News bulletins come from Studio B.
The advantage of replicating is the team have more familiarity while in a slightly different environment - it is one less headache to worry about and one of the reasons they have these arrangements in place is to handle a studio being unavailable for any reason.
Bit of a technical problem on the 6 o'clock News just now.
It went straight from the "coming up" sequence to the next report, with no introduction.
Then, halfway through the report, it went back to the studio, where Sophie appeared to be unaware that she was on air, but with the sound of the report continuing.
Where has Victoria Derbyshire been coming from this week? I'm assuming it's Studio A, but it looks bloody good! They should use this virtual set instead of the usual virtual news studio.

Like Newsnight, they've been solely using the desk side of B.
