Some Youtube videos have a thumbnail with the BBC News logo and the word Breaking - with all text except the BBC blocks in Reith. Is a rebrand for the entire BBC News service imminent?

That looks vile.

I'm glad I'm not alone in thinking that. I'm so used to seeing the BBC News logo in Gill Sans for the past 20-odd years that it just looks wrong and disjointed somehow.

That font looks garbage anyway, as if someone’s recreated the logo, doesn’t have Gill sans and just opted for Verdana or Tahoma.

Whilst I'm here - An observation from this morning's Business Live.

They were talking about a news story featured on a website (may have been the New York Times) and to illustrate they put the webpage on the screen, in full screen.
Clearly visable in the top right hand corner, an embeded advertising video for the new Samsmug mobile was playing away to the point it got up to the white text 'order yours now' end caption.

Thought to myself - Don't they have ad blockers at the BBC? Could be useful when putting webpages with known autoplay adverts on the screen to illustrate the story to viewers, I'd have thought.

Typically when they show a webpage full screen it’s coming from a smart tablet (sometimes before they show the website you see the presenter pick it up) that may not have ad blockers. I imagine it’s not that big of a deal as it’s not there content - if it was they’d have to completely edit most sports content (football with advertisers around the pitch).

But with pitch side adverts, it's something they have no control over.

I'd argue a Web page with removal of adverts, is something they could do, with ad blockers or even copy the page, blur out the adverts and put the page out in slight delay.

Studio D is a hard studio, right? Not virtual.

Is it the same one they use for HardTalk?
