Rather strange problem with the 3pm TOTH. Looked like all the lights were off in the newsroom on the trundle cam. Sadly I didn't cap it.

Must have been an issue with the trundle cam as all the lights appeared to be on when they cut to the studio.

Some Youtube videos have a thumbnail with the BBC News logo and the word Breaking - with all text except the BBC blocks in Reith. Is a rebrand for the entire BBC News service imminent?
Moz, Ittr and Sh1ruba gave kudos

That'll be a camera with the iris almost completey closed, not lights out in the newsroom. I guess the OCP has been inadvertently knocked, or there's a fault with the camera. OCPs are camera Operator (?) Control Panels - and are used, not to control pan, tilt, zoom etc, but exposure and colour balance.

Guess I should post this here then...

It was OK again at 4pm.

Very interesting to see the 'BBC NEWS' logo set in Reith! So they're going for normal weight then.

I'm aware the lights weren't actually "out", I was just making humour about the almost-darkened image on the feed Razz

Even if it was lights out in the newsroom it wouldn't be pitch black like on that picture as you'd still have the light from outside as well as from the studio.
