In face dropping the Whole programe and staying with Either Studio E or the presenter that is already on Location in the event of Major breaking news would be better.

I'm not a fan of the programme. But with a few tweaks, I think it would work better for both the BBC Two audience and the NC audience.

I find it boring and devoid of pace. Graphics are a mess and they've not made the best of the studio space they're in.

Adding additional news bulletins and throwing to the newsdesk in the event of breaking news would help remove the feeling that the programme is there at the expense of 'news'.

When Derbyshire did that as a two hour show, it felt the bulletins were crowbarred in, so that they could throw to another human interest segment or a lovely film. With the 60 min format and one TOTH headline bulletin, it feels as if they can squeeze in as much non-news as possible due to time constraints.

The one thing VD has been good for is Catrin Nye's packages. She's largely on Panorama these days and the better for it.

Or in Martine Croxall's case, filming the trailer for Next Sunday's Film Bafta Red Caret program.

I wonder why BBC News at Nine doesn't broadcast on Saturday as an unbranded programme, like Sunday?

Still annoys me that look wasn't allowed to evolve - it was far better than the mess that followed it and is still undeservedly on screen a decade later.

The 2007 refresh was the best and would still look brilliant if it was on screen today.

Random thing I thought i'd share on here. I attended a local quiz tonight. One of the questions was 'In which year did the new Wembley Stadium open'. Here's the sad part. I got the answer based on when BBC News 24 updated their top of the hour countdown and added the shot of James Pierce reporting outside the stadium for the first game and when they switched the logo to the strap version/changed the countdown clock graphics which was 2007. I really liked this. It was probably the least BBC of all their recent looks - it had great pace to it.
