Maybe this is an issue that only occurred on the online stream, but from midnight, all the sound from BBC News seemed heavily bassed, if you compare it to the hour immediately before, it was normal but then became very bassed as soon as it moved over to the simulcast.

I would record it, but i dont believe there is a way to record app sound output on iOS.

It was as if the sound from C was being broadcast in single channel mono mixed rather than two channel stereo. It's fixed now.

There was a brief burst of what sounded like audio from a House of Commons sitting (John Bercow saying "Order!") after the 23:15 headlines.

Very strange. Maybe it was from the gallery and the director's way of cueing Clive in.

Still not as funny as the time when both Ros Atkins and Christian Fraser were both doing live OB pieces and the gallery cut to Ros but put Christian's mic up with him saying 'for goodness sake, I can't hear a bloody thing!' or words to that effect with Ros baffled about what was going on. Very Happy

Good to see the old A-Team of Simon and Carrie (kinda) reunited on Afternoon Live today with him at Westminster and her in the studio. Admittedly not sat next to each other in the studio but on the same show/programme nonetheless!

It hasn't been fixed, at least from here. The sound during ads, weather, recorded shows (such as Our World) and Asia Business Report are normal. It's live news that's the problem.

A rather amusing error at the end of the Six this evening!

Jon Sopel reporting live from a Washington D.C. street looks and sounds absolutely bloody frozen. -7°C out there.

I enjoyed Huw's terse "Jon, what's going on?" when throwing to him on the latest nonsense from the White House.

It's bad enough Sky News have sent out a reporter to Chicago (based in New York) to cover the extreme cold, where she's doing lives outside.

During these situations they are only outside for the duration of the hit. They then leave the camera and lights out and retreat to the car or building.

Yes, it’s idiotic when they tell people to avoid being outside but it’s part of the job. The crew probably also have the foot and hand warmers in their socks and gloves, respectively. Those things provide 10 hours of decent heat. The ones for your feet have adhesive on them and can be applied to other parts of your body. That’s in addition to multiple sweaters, pants, two coats and glove. A year or two ago when Dylan Dryer of NBC was covering the polar vortex and countless snow storms, people were concerned for yet and the crew being outside. She revealed that the NBC costume/wardrobe department made vests of sorts for the crews. The vests had about eight pockets in the back and four in the front so they could insert the hand warmers.

The fancier standups probably have a heavy duty propane heater, the kind you see on the sidelines of NFL games.

There is now a VT going out on Sky News where she did vox pops with those stupid enough to go outside.
