Sky also had no rolling news between 8-9pm for the opinionated gobfest that is The Pledge. Don't see any complaints about them not covering Gatwick for an hour?

Shaun Ley made his debut on Afternoon Live today, opening the program at 2 with "Hello everybody this is Afternoon Live with me Shaun Ley, standing in for Simon the real McCoy, which I guess makes me his decoy, today at 2..." . !
He was excellent as a stand in host in that slot, just like Martine Croxall. If Chris Eakin had still been around, he'd have been another.
I wonder if Carrie Gracie when she returns will take the slot over on Friday's and Weekends
Worth noting that Fiona Armstrong (now The Lord Lieutenant for Dumfriesshire) was one of those laying a wreath at the Lockerbie memorial a little earlier.
Anita McVeigh didn't mention her by name when commentating on the pictures which I found rather odd. Normally they'd say 'our former colleague' or something along those lines.
The forecast with Helen Willetts before 9pm tonight had a couple of issues - the overview shot appeared to have all of the controls visible for customising the map (as well as the scrub bar at the bottom showing the length of the sequence). There was also a classic chroma key error thanks to a green section on her necklace.
And it seems that instead of taking World News Today, The News Channel have stayed with Reeta Chakrabarti in E due to the news of Paddy Ashdown's death earlier this evening.

Since you mentioned the controls were visible do you know if there’s a way for the meteorologist to control the map from the chroma key. Here the features called magic track where the camera outputs put through the weather computer to handle the chroma key and if a they point with their finger over the selection and tap their clicker they can control it.

The controls issue came up recently as well, I don't remember when, but it's not the first time that it's happened. Not really sure how the controls can be visible unless that specific sequence won't render without them being there.
