20 past the hour is now seen as a fluff minute time??? Oh how the mighty have fallen.....
Afternoon Live does seem to have a bit more fluff than most slots- like its Sky News namesake used to have. Some of the items wouldn't feel out of place on This Morning.
I personally don’t mind a bit of ‘fluff’. Don’t get me wrong, let’s not go too far down that root but it’s nice just to break up a lot of the same repetitive brexit news every so often.
Also, so much of the news is doom and gloom so it’s nice to get a little bit of uplifting/ funny news in the middle of a quieter news day.
There's only been a single headline on the ticker (George Padadopoulos jailed - shouldn't have given up the Albert Square laundrette for a job in American politics) for the last two hours, at least.

With Tim Willcox presenting Dateline London (seemingly with no certainty, I don't believe he's ever presented that before), and Geeta Guru-Murthy covering the afternoon NC shift, there must be a lot of presenters away or not available at the moment!
Seeing more than one presenter in Studio E that is primarily a World News presenter is pretty unusual, at least since I started watching the channel more heavily than I used to. Normally it would be one presenter in say an evening shift if really needed, not two!

The "stuck" ticker issue happens pretty much every single time over night on weekends now, it's reached the point where, I'm convinced it's intentional at this point, because it's too consistent.

I do think it would be better at this point to just leave it off when output from Studio E ends for the day.

Ben Bland also hinted on twitter that he would be doing the evening shift on the news channel tonight.
