Yep, because if there’s one thing the Radio 1 target audience love, it’s a spoof of a news programme that’s on at the same time as Love Island and attracts an average age of over 60.

That Greg James video was very embarrassing.

The ticker broke once again. It broke half way during the 1.30am Travel Show broadcast by being completely missing, then returned after the TOTH but it’s only showing the plane thief story over and over.
Whoever manages the ticker overnight seems to successfully screw it up every time.

Can't you be a TV geek and still love "Love island"?

There's little else to do in a room at the Holiday Inn at Media City, you can't even get pornography sent to the telly in there (I'm told)

So the Linton Travel Tavern is better than the Holiday Inn Media City in that regard?

It's good to see the BBC are giving other presenters a chance in their various key slots (such as Rachel Schofield presenting Afternoon Live, and Mel Coles covering some afternoon weather shifts). I would like to see more unusual presenting shifts so it's not just the same people every single day, which gets incredibly boring after a while.
Looking at Mel Coles' twitter feed, she is apparently a freelance journalist and not specifically a weather presenter, which means we might see her more in non-weather related presenting on the News Channel.
I know this is mostly because of the summer break, but it's still good to see the BBC not rushing to get their "star presenters" back on screen so quickly.

Mel Coles still on occasion does the occasional bulletin on East Midlands Today, where she was previously employed by the BBC.
Geeta Pendse also recently left EMT to go freelance and has been doing some shifts at BBC London News.
