Huw Edwards' first broadcast of the Ten (on the news channel only) was the whole shebang, with the Ten's titles, network correspondents, and prancing on the catwalk. Normally if the network bulletin is delayed, there's a half-hearted summary with generic titles until BBC One is ready to join
I thought what they did was the better option.

Definitely! There’s a bit news story and it deserves more than generic treatment.

To clarify, I do agree it was nice to see a News Channel only segment presented like a normal network bulletin and there's nothing wrong with that. I just felt it would have been nice to see Huw not following the same old introduction he always does for things like News at Five, Six and Ten, largely because he never introduces his name on those (due to the network channels saying who it is before it starts, which isn't something the news channel does, requiring the presenter to introduce themselves at TOTH). It's not a make or break thing though.

I'm just confused by this whole thing… as, it would seem, are you.
Would’ve been nice if Huw presented the News at Ten for the NC like a generic BBC News bulletin

The News at Five is on the news channel only and so unless he says his name (I can't remember I don't see it often enough to know).

A broken Huw?
Personally I was unsure who the presenter was because he didn't start the bulletin with his trademark pose.
A broken Huw?

He says 'Today at 5' out of the countdown before launching into the headlines and then out of the titles 'It's 5 o'clock, our top story'.
When Jane Hill covers she says 'It's 5 o'clock, i'm Jane Hill'.
I suppose it's assumed everyone knows who he is so there's no need!

It probably is because of that lol

I wonder if the second edition of The Papers is rating better than a just aired edition of Newsnight?

So the World Cup has passed and the 11:30 edition of The Papers (on Weekdays) is still with us-Have they quietly (and finally) cancelled the Newsnight repeat.
