Has anyone noticed they've dropped the 'Good morning/evening and welcome to BBC News' out of the titles?

Shaun Ley has been saying “Good afternoon welcome to BBC News” this afternoon.

What's wrong with the NC scheduling this evening??? At 17:45 an edition of "Meet the Author" was aired following sport bulletins at 17:30. Then at 18:43 another edition of "Meet the Author" was aired again following the end of the national bulletin/weekend news with Mishal Husain (Sportsday was cancelled due to the weekend news going late on BBC One). Coming up later at 19:45, there will be ANOTHER edition of "Meet the Author" again following Sportsday. Can't they air a short edition of The Travel Show or Click instead of Meet The Author???

Can verify that, at least for those presenters who don’t present on the NC much on evenings, the "welcome to BBC News" section is being omitted, with some just launching instantly into the top story. I agree with this, given they state "this is bbc news" straight after the countdown and the sequence after the headlines shows the bbc news logo.

Suspect this is just a missing bit of generic script from a running order template. I wonder if this is because the BBC is migrating from ENPS to OpenMedia, and presumably OpenMedia has new templates.

It’s probably the case, but i think it’s a welcome change. I’ve fuond that constantly referring to BBC News is annoying, given it’s on the ticker strap and mentioned at the top of the hour, plus the logos in the background. 10 odd references to the channel is kinda bland, removing some of them gives additional time in broadcasting news/interviews imo

The new BBC Breakfast titles have shown this morning how versatile they are - looking amazing overlaid over an outside shot of Leeds hospital.

I think the main BBC News titles should be updated getting rid of the red box and using the current Instagram ‘titles’ overlaid over the newsroom trundle-cam shot - or an external shot if out in location.

Weather has returned to the balcony today complete with trundle cam, or at least it has for the 13:56 forecast!

That is the only time the weather will broadcast from the balcony now, most likely due to Afternoon Live requirements, and it is not consistently broadcast from there. Every other time, it’s the green screen studio or actually in C/E (for news at one, news at five and news at 6 when it’s c/e)

Do no weekend bulletins not use it?

Presumably mornings don't either because the Victoria Derbyshire forecasts are in studio B and Newsroom Live forecasts are from Salford (though do they not do any from the balcony when Simon King is on holiday).
