Just a couple of snapshots of WN simulcasting the studio E's feed with NC in case anyone is not watching. Seems very rare nowadays having double-headed presenters at the weekends and even presenting in studio E...

I don't believe there has been any double-headed presenters on weekends for a long time now (at least for a few years), and the concept was abolished mid-last year on NC in favour of single presenters for all output (the only time two presenters are used is during developing international stories, but even then, this just gets broadcast from other studios). It's interesting to see that World doesn't seem to use the BREAKING strap on their ticker for breaking stories...

I hope NC takes this on board and considers bringing back double-headed presenters for some of their output, even though this is no longer likely to be feasible due to the strict weekday schedule they have with named broadcasts (Newsroom Live, Afternoon Live, Beyond 100 Days, OS...)

EDIT: Looks like Tim only double-headed the TOTH bullet that was simulcast on World, as NC is back to a single presenter (Vicki) at 5.30pm

To duck away from the depressing news from Germany (and a city I've been to) for a moment, I noticed Lucy Martin was back to a normal, more zoomed-out framing for the weather today.

I couldn't help thinking about what they'd do if they had a weather presenter who was missing their left arm, and then I thought they might just have them present it from the right with reversed maps and flip the output. Might look weird to someone who knew them...

BBC World News are still with Vicki too. There is usually a a change of shift at 6:00pm on World.

Struggling to understand the rationale the BBC has for doing that, even if it is the weekend, unless it's just a case of "not having people be on overtime for too much broadcasting". If they're gonna keep with Studio E on both outputs, why not just double-head it through the whole hour? Confused:

Opps! It seems like WN accidentally played out the NC dog while running the return intros...

BBC News Channel is simulcasting the World News feed now (rather than WN simulcasting NC), which is in the normal WN studio (C iirc?). It's still presented by Tim Wilcox and not double-headed though. Most likely NC will pull away from WN to focus on UK stories later in the broadcast.

I assume the BBC decided to carry on the simulcast in studio C so that studio E can be vacant for the BBC One national bulletin at 1830... So in case if they want to extend their coverage, the viewers on NC and One will not be affected.

By the way why are the studio C skyline background still in daytime? It's 6PM already!

I don't know whereabouts in the world you are, but here in the UK it is still daylight right now, so no surprise they haven't switched to the nighttime background yet.

Because maybe it's light outside? Rolling Eyes

Seems like the simulcast ended. WN is on a 30 min documentary programme while NC is with the BBC One national bulletin...
