Commonwealth Games: Opening Ceremony overran by fifteen minutes this lunchtime, then BBC News at ‘One’ was on air straight after.
When this sort of thing happens do programmes such as Afternoon Live standby?
15 minutes wouldn't make the News at One run beyond 2:00pm (I imagine they would sooner cut the sports/business in the back half hour). But in case of a longer delay, presumably they would delay Afternoon Live.

They would have to as both programmes are presented in the same Studio.

And given that the delayed One O'Clock News was likely to be simulcast on BBC One and the BBC News Channel, there would also be no outlet for Afternoon live to broadcast on (*) either, until the delayed One O'Clock News was off-air.
A bit of prudishness from the subtitlers this morning on Breakfast, as when one of the presenters used the word "bums," in the context of Heathrow Terminal 1 seats being for sale, it got subtitled as "posteriors."

Due to the developing story in Germany, the main newsroom studio, E, is double headed by Tim Wilcox and Vicki Young, marking the first time two presenters have been in E since mid-last year. Most likely this is due to it being the weekend with limited programming planned on either channel.

Worlds taking their feed and towards the back half hour around 4:40PM BST they transitioned to UK centric stories that went out on World.

Yeah, I could tell there might be a simulcast planned for the event, as there usually is for any kind of developing story of this magnitude, given that NC went to the balcony running camera and waited there for at least 5 seconds before moving, alongside the repeat of an interview done only on World by Tim being broadcast on NC (which is normally avoided from what I can tell).
