Very lazy and perhaps inappropriate now of BBC News to be simulcasting the Queen's 90th Birthday event, when there is serious news to be covered.

I didn't realise they were simulcasting. That is very poor, it isn't exactly a formal state occasion.

They seem to air anything instead of actual rolling news these days.

They're very good recently at just rolling some easy coverage - they spent about two hours following Muhammad Ali's funeral procession the other day. It's not that it shouldn't be covered, it's that covering it constantly for 2 hours adds precisely zero.
