Christian Fraser was tucking into one of them just before the weather came on.

Also before anyone asks at 9:00pm where Outside Source is.

This means it will probably be News at Nine at 9:00pm followed by the 2nd half of World News America at 9:30-This also applies next week as well til we do our clock change the weekend after next.

I've never understood why this happens...

So that WNA goes out at the correct time in the US.

Not sure why we can't have a recorded 8pm hour of Outside Source at 9pm, with Ros on standby for any breaking news - he is there for a 10pm edition anyway.

Because BBC World seems to be scheduled according to US times rather than GMT/BST.

The rest of the World schedule mostly stays the same and goes with UK daylight savings time; the only other change during this two week period is the the first part of GMT appears to move from 10am to 9am UK time, with the 9am pre-recorded programme at 10am in its place.

For info, for the next fortnight, Outside Source on BBC WN is the usual 40 minute edition that normally goes out at 9pm UK time - since at least the beginning of the year, World News no longer broadcasts a full hour of OS. Sport Today and a filler take up the remainder of the hour, before the first edition of WNA.

It's based on whether a programme is taken by affiliate or partner stations. Focus on Africa is always fixed at 1730 GMT or 1930 CAT throughout the year, while World News America is fixed to 1700 & 1730 ET/EDT. The first half hour of GMT is taken by some US PBS stations, AFAIK, and is also fixed.

Worth noting that CNNi also change times of certain programmes, so they stay at the same time in North America.

The News at 9 is being presented from the green-screen studio (with the pre-recorded camera shot of the newsroom before it). I always found the use of the GS studio odd, especially around this time of year when the timezones prevent Outside Source from broadcasting in the UK. Who's using Studio E when the News Channel is normally simulcasting OS, apart from people prepping for News at 10 nearer 9.30pm?

I actually think the Studio A set looks less fake than it did in 2013.
