These things almost always happen in the cold weather strangely!
Air Con failure. Moving back to E now. Sport getting a tech upgrade.

In relation to BBC Sport moving studios due to broken air conditioning, they should keep the ‘blured’ background they have at the moment. I think it looks quite effective. To me, anyway.

Sport haven't had an air con failure have they? MediaBoy says they are having a tech upgrade. And he'd know.
The air con issue was in NBH and was why News Channel output moved from the newsroom studio to the BBC London studio?

Whoops, yes, you stand correct. Sorry, I read it wrong.

The programme appears to be getting presented from the BBC London studio again (like it was during one weekend of the Pyeongchang Olympics),, so it's just "BBC News". Sport has also been in a different studio this week as well, more problems in their "main" ones again it seems.
Even the barco cubes didnt have this many issues!
I wonder what's happened to Newsroom Live this morning? Just being introduced as BBC News and doesn't seem to be any wide shots.

Are you being funny? The decamp to D this morning was one of the very few real time non planned issues since we've been in NBH.
BTW expect to see a LOT more of D in the coming weekends as a major project to replace the lighting in the newsroom gets underway .... they have, after all, been on for nearly 5 years now!

Is D the main news channel back up studio these days or are there contingencies to use A as well?

A would be a lot better for contingency use if it had a better virtual set, perhaps based on photographs of the real set in C rather than being a fairly obvious computer generated render. Some depth of field rather than the set all looking pin sharp would be an improvement too.
As well as looking better, I suspect that D is nicer for the teams to work in for an extended period than the green box too.
