I'm going to presume it's something that was overlooked when they were tidying up after they did whatever they did in E while the news channel decamped to D last weekend
Studio E is really nice, that shot really shows how good that studio is, I do like studio C and B too due to the wonderful lighting schemes, but I do wish sometimes World News had a permenant studio overlooking a live newsroom backdrop.
I wonder are there higher resolution screens available that might improve that newsroom background for studio C that might let World News have the same look as the 5

Based on one of the visible seams it appears there’s a diffuser panel of some sorts yet they probably make if softer as well in post. I remember when Nelson Mandela died there was a decently sharp image on studio C’s wall as they transitioned coordinated coverage to C.

A higher resolution would help somewhat, but the image will still lack any depth or parallax movement as the camera moves.

Here’s a video of Studio C with a crisper background:

If they wanted to ride that they’d would probably require engines for each camera to change the background view and who know how long it would take to film for each camera.
I gotta ask how doe Tomasz get away with some of the stuff. He’s given the finger on air, cursed I believe and a few other things that caused “outrage”. Viewers and the Beeb must like him otherwise I think he would be out the door.
I should add that I like him, he seems personable and likeable. However the incidents he’s had probably would get him fired anywhere else.
Well after some of those incidents Tomasz left the Met Office BBC Weather on-screen team to work elsewhere, as there was a rationalisation in the Met Office operation (which reduced the number of on-screen roles), and some on-screen meteorologists were asked to return to non-presenting duties in the Met Office. Tomasz was one of these I believe - though there is no implication this was because of his on-air mishaps.
I can't remember whether Tomasz stayed with the Met Office for this period, or freelanced as a weather presenter, but he wasn't in the core BBC One/BBC News Channel/BBC World News team at this point. (He also co-presented/reported on BBC One's The Great British Weather and gained an agent ISTR)
He re-joined the core BBC Weather team couple of years later I believe.
Oh dear. Scratchy mic trouble for Carrie Gracie. Sounds like they've had to go to a camera mic (or mounted elsewhere in the studio), and during the first Roger Bannister VT she's gone to the other side of the studio (or is it just another camera angle?) which sounds even worse.
I just spotted Carrie Gracie lurking on the catwalk at the end of the BBC One news and can't help but wonder - do the news channel presenters always hang around in the studio for the 20 or so minutes for the evening news?
(you can just see her to the left of Mishal Husain)
And was there meant to be the headlines after the BBC One news finished?
