If no one has cued you to start, you won’t know you’re on, so won’t begin. It looked to me like he didn’t know he was on air.

Also from the clip I've seen it looked more like BBC One crashed to the weather studio early (or really late?) mid way through a DTL interview. So Tomasz wouldn't have been expecting to be cued at that point.

Great. I'm allowed to bring mine. Not sure anybody cares though.

I don't care if anyone cares.

Has Victoria Derbyshire got so arty they have to stick a film effect on the studio discussions now? Good god. The people who make these decisions really need a good slap.

If it was the in the studio - then their studio cameras can't shoot 25p native (the original HSC300 is 1080i25 or 720p50 only) - so it will have been a DVE effect, which is not allowed under BBC (and industry-wide) DPP Tech standards...

Quote:
2.1.3 Film motion or ‘film effect’
It is not acceptable to shoot in 1080i/25 and add a film motion effect in post-production. Most High Definition cameras can capture in either 1080i/25 or 1080p/25. Where film motion is a requirement, progressive capture is the only acceptable method.

Given that the alzheimers discussion was a pre-record, I loved how Victoria has made the effort to wear the same outfit but went out and had her hair restyled for the RTS awards posing a bit of a continuity issue.

If the 'film effect' interview was a studio recording, then it could have been a mistake in the edit, or it could have been an 'editorial' decision (taken by someone who doesn't know the DPP rules - and as Derbyshire is a BBC Two show I'd expect it to have to meet the same rules as any other network show)

I gotta ask how doe Tomasz get away with some of the stuff. He’s given the finger on air, cursed I believe and a few other things that caused “outrage”. Viewers and the Beeb must like him otherwise I think he would be out the door.

I should add that I like him, he seems personable and likeable. However the incidents he’s had probably would get him fired anywhere else.

When was the rather large (what looks like) black cable trunking added behind the presenter on the floor in studio E? Just noticed it today.
