Yep, It's not a left-right thing, its an online journalism thing. When journalists are expected to come up with a fixed number of stories per day then they will take anything vaguely interesting that happens and make it into a 'news' story.

Could have been worse, one newspaper website runs stories about what Carol Kirkwood wears

There seems to be a fault with Live/Locator DOG during the News at Five. It seems to have gone semi transparent and any colour behind it is causing issues with the text. Can't screen grab it at the mo.

It seems BBC News had a package for the resignation of Damien Green ready to air, as it's going out just 15 minutes after the news broke.
