Looks like we have a World/NC simulcast with Geeta Guru Murthy with Ben Brown in Harare on the sacking of Robert Mugabe.

Noticed the News Channel was simulcast on BBC One between 10:00 and 11:00 this morning. Was something cleared out, on the expectation of significant news from Zimbabwe, or did they just run out of something to put in this slot? Seemed a bit odd.

No. It was scheduled. Actually in Radio Times it was listed as Newsroom Live.

Sunday Morning Live's series finished last week, and Fern Britton Meets . . . starts next week.

Strange one that. Don't think it's ever happened before.

Looked like a World Countdown sequence but with the NC Countdown music, as that didn't have the two note World synth throughout it.

There was that time that there was a billed edition of Andrew Marr, but no actual show because Parliament was in recess - supposedly the first NC1 knew of it was when they called through to TC7 to line up, and didn't get any response, so an hour of the News Channel went out instead.

9am-10am regularly gets a news channel simulcast whenever the Andrew Marr show isn't on so I presume the poster was referring to an hour of the news channel being broadcast at 10am specifically.

Incidentally, BBC News titles were used during the Sunday BBC One simulcast.

Would the News Channel be the nominated standby for Marr, or would there by multiple standbys for different circumstances? Maybe the News Channel as first choice, and something pre-recorded in case the News Channel has also been taken off-air by whatever circumstances are affecting Marr?

Honestly this is one of the funniest things I’ve ever heard. My god.

Okay, just so I understand the operators of newschannel callled TC7 Studio to line up the feeds but got no response. So the people operating the newschannel were able to put together an hour show in time? Did that hour of newschannel go out on One?
