But back to Afternoon Live... can they trim the 0.5 second gap at the start of the headline bed on spot on, when it restarts for each headline sounds disjointed. #pedantic

Otherwise it's all lovely. Nice use of the new screens on the opening too, nice new shot.

Nice idea linking with the local BBC Newsrooms

An old press release said they'd be doing that with a new strand programme.

It’s amazing that I only had the TV on at a low volume and could still hear this. I’m also glad that TV Forum exists so I’m not the only person that finds things like this annoying.

UK Today was a bit different, more just somebody in London linking together packages from the regions than going live I think?

But there was a short lived 7pm strand that did go to the regions live I think?

Can't see why the over the shoulder ones would be touch screen. The presenters don't stand at those. Probably just normal 100 inch HD (at least) screens.

Really? They do from today... Laughing

Wow the music on the titles is absolutely top notch, lovely, the headlines vamp as others have commented isn’t very seamless though, maybe the lighting could have orange tints to it since the titles feature red with orangey shades.

Does anyone know why Simon appeared to have two mice on his desk? Does he have to control two separate computers or was one a back up?

There were two keyboards too.

Correct. Smile

The 7pm hour was called "News 24 Tonight" for a wee while, after UK Today had ceased to exist. It was certainly a content-from-the-regions sort of a thing, but I don't know whether that involved going live to the regions or simply the N24 presenters introducing packages taken from the regions (i.e. basically the same as UK Today).

The regional bit is a nice touch. It's a shame they only went to two regions, although I wonder whether doing that contribution is operationally awkward for the regional teams while they are trying to get their programmes together? From the poor quality recording I watched back I'm not sure whether Stuart White was in the studio or a CSO position?
