Not really, because they just using a show name that their only rival news channel used just years ago! Creativity is dead. Next News at Five will become Live at Five.

Whereas Sky's News at Ten, Tonight, Live Desk, Sunrise, Press Preview and [Presenter Name] Live are all earth-shatteringly creative and original names.

New screens for Studio E...?

Could be some of the new 100inch HD touch screens that are available on the market to replace the two over the shoulder screens in E? Sounds like Chris is referring to the screen burn some have mentioned on here.

Possibly the same / similar to the ones BBC Sport have just got in Salford? Or are they a different size?

Can't see why the over the shoulder ones would be touch screen. The presenters don't stand at those. Probably just normal 100 inch HD (at least) screens.

Nothing to say they won't or couldn't?

Well why would they when they have the catwalk area? Surely they'd make those screens touchscreen first.

They could simply be just replacing the catwalk screens. I think they were 103” Panasonic’s which have been discontinued.

A larger screen would also obstruct one of the cameras.

All Panasonic plasmas are discontinued AIUI (unless they still have old stock) - manufacturing of Panasonic plasmas has ceased. (Crying shame - but 4K plasma production wasn't cost effective AIUI)

Fingers crossed it is the DTL LCD screens (which have terrible screen burn from a reasonably static logo that is parked in there) are being replaced - not the 103" plasmas (which don't have such bad burn) and are better suited to the cat walk role than even the best LCD displays (Singapore demonstrates the limitations of LCDs in the catwalk role) The catwalk screens are viewed off-axis, and LCDs really still don't have consistent picture quality across viewing angles. (Luckily - when they do need replacing, fine-pitch LED matrix may well now be good enough for that role - or possibly OLED)

New screens in E

Christ they're a bit big! They seem to have used the same glass/plastic mounts that the old screens used, which means there's an overhang as the new screens are bigger, which if you don't focus properly does give the illusion that they're floating! Whilst it's good the old, burnt-in ones have gone, they could have put the new screens slightly further back so they didn't look as massive?

If the idea was for the screens not to look massive, surely they would just buy smaller screens?

Besides with the camera tracks it may not be possible to move it further back.

Has there been a DTL interview shown on it yet so I can make the ‘Home Secretary my goodness you’re huge! Please don’t eat us!’ joke?
