Nope. Same titles (nifty logo reveal, radio waves) and tweaks to the theme, thats about it pres wise.

What’s the point just keep it BBC News!

The Beyond 100 Days strap has just appeared on the NC but without an announcement from the NC presenter & TOTH.

Probably a messy switchover from the NC feed to the World feed had taken place.

Trump is doing a live media conference with the Spanish PM Mariano Rajoy at the White House.

Now the lower thirds are going into on and off on the screen.

The lower straps are dedicated to the respective news channels though, I would have expected the LIVE graphic to behave differently as that’s hard embedded in both feeds.

It is back now to Katty & Christian talking about that press conference & about NK now with Ambassador Gary Locke in Seattle.

On NC, the lower thirds animated off, then there was a splat as the Beyond 100 Days strap and lower thirds appeared. No TOTH as Trump was already speaking before it. No intro to the programme, they just got straight into it off the back of the press conference.

On World the show went with out anything on the screen until about two minutes in and no astons until six minutes.

Question is apart from some tweaked titles, will it be vastly different from BBC Newsroom Live, which might as well just be a standard BBC News channel bulletin (branded, most probably for BBC Two viewers). I can understand giving names to shows which are radically different, such as VD and OS in terms of presentation and a specific audience, but if its the same presentation as a domestic bulletin, what does it add?

Not that i'm against the name (although it sounds very Sky News and one would expect Kay Burley to pop up) but I thought in 2008 everything was simply named 'BBC News' to strengthen the brand?

It's strange really, 10 years ago Sky News and the BBC News channel have basically swapped in terms of applying show names to different output strands.

It's good to see the News channel doing something a bit different, if indeed Afternoon Live is going to!

Not really, because they just using a show name that their only rival news channel used just years ago! Creativity is dead. Next News at Five will become Live at Five.
