Looking at that has given me a mad idea, how about moving Dateline London to Studio D with the background maintaining it's BBC London layout?

Odd problem at the midday TOTH. Headline bed seemed to be continually restarting for the latter half of the headlines, making the thunderclap sound continually.

BBC News Iraq Special being broadcast from Studio B on BBC World News and the BBC News Channel at the moment.

Not exactly BBC News Channel, but the BBC One news bulletin's astons don't have the BBC News logo attached tonight.

Very minor observation but still.

The BBC News at Six is being broadcast only in Scotland tonight. England Wales & Northern Ireland had their program at 5:30.

The News channel had no ticker or logo and just had Astons too like on BBC One Scotland.

Its strange how on a News at Six broadcast just in Scotland still shows a full national weather broadcast.

Not really - viewers on the News Channel still want to know what the weather's doing across the whole UK!

Presumably BBC One Scotland just took the News Channel sustaining feed - but I'm not sure why they couldn't have taken a line feed of the studio E output that normally goes to Red Bee. (That way the NC could have kept its graphics, and BBC One Scotland would get a ticker-less feed.)

Also, they could at least have mentioned that the Dickie Attenborough tribute programme isn't on till Wednesday in Scotland! Smile

The first few times it was amusing, but now... it's getting to be a little cringey,

You make it sound like it happens every hour. It's still in the whole scheme of things on a 24hr news channel, it doesn't happen that often.
So is Sky News, Al Jazeera, CNN and even BBC World News and it never seems to happen to them.

To be fair it has happened on BBC World News, in fact the result was even worse.

I would say that the result is much better than how these situations are handled on the NC. The presenter wasted no time in making a brief apology before launching straight into the top story, reading it as he crossed back to the desk - viewers without their eyes on the screen would not have noticed any difference, with it all fixed within seconds. Meanwhile, on the NC when this has happened there's been a long silence, the sound of footsteps and then apologies as the presenter makes their way back to the desk.

Look out for some new Breaking News straps and screens over the next couple of weeks. They're along the same lines as the World News flash Wink

If I remember correctly I think someone said that, in TVC days, the feed was slightly different for Scotland only due to including subtitles. Whether that still affects the feed I do not know.

Because the subtitles are embedded in the channel output chain, and this is the only way we can guarantee subtitles in Scotland.
I guess the Attenborough thing was just an oversight. Wink

aha, of course!
In the days of TVC, the CCA subtitle inserter could be used to get around that problem - but I'm not sure if that functionality still exists.
