This happened a few months ago on the Saturday night/Sunday morning, it then returned to C for the 0100 bulletin.

Of course though it could be different tonight!

The overnights actually came from Studio D the night before as well. Chris Rogers was on presenting duty.

The NC carried the 8:27 BBC London News bulletin and is currently still sticking with Breakfast at the moment, which is dominated post-8:30 by the news of David Bowie's death.

Was wondering whether a truncated Business Live would appear at 8:45 or something, but it's not looking likely.

The NC broke away from Breakfast abruptly at 9:00, breaking Louise off mid-sentence, to the Victoria Derbyshire show with Norman Smith.

The top headline on VD is of course Bowie's death, which is exactly what Bill & Louise were in the middle of talking about on Breakfast as 9am came and went.

According to the listings for Monday, the local news after the News at 1 is the usual length so think this is an improvement. With the News at 10 now going onto :30 every night, I think they need to rethink how they do the opening to the Papers as it means it all starts at :35 and eats into Sportsday.

Isn't the time needed though to seat the guests etc. The challenge causes by sharing studios - plus the gallery team probably all changes as well.

I think so too. Couldn't the 10 presenter move to the screens at :25 to allow the guests to be seated like the NC presenter does for the 1?

I hate to say this is as a result of the cuts and E not being staffed till the 11am bulletin. WN have their normal presenter this morning. Interesting use of VD and starting it on the NC at 9am. Could this mean that we won't see Anita or Joanna in C for 15 minutes when we could have a "special" bulletin with VD until the main show start.

Admittedly though, as it's an entertainment story then it's fine keeping with Breakfast, if it wasn't then I would question why the NC didn't opt-out to E or WN.

Very unlikely I'd suggest. You wouldn't want your final BBC One shot to be a flat screen shot, and what if the final item on the Ten was a studio interview updating the top story or breaking news?

I think it's very unlikely, in the current regime, that the Ten would be asked to compromise for the sake of the channel...

This has to be a first. VD techincally became a NC bulletin with standard graphics presented by Norman Baker.
