Wow. Joanna had to interrupt this man talking about the Tunisia crisis, he already seemed emotional and didn't seem to pleased when Joanna had to stop him just for the channel to join Victoria...

Derbyshire should be on Two and Rolling news should be on NC, that's all.

Yes, but as said several times over, there's no cash available to make that happen

Then drop Derbyshire Smile Or get BBC Two to pay for it (if they don't already)

I wonder how much it costs to produce an average edition of VD in comparison to the former rolling news bulletins in the same slot?

If it does cost more to produce Victoria Derbyshire than a normal rolling news bulletin, then there's the case for getting rid of The Victoria Derbyshire progamme in a nutshell-Regardless of the cost!

It's bound to cost more, those lovely films don't grow on trees you know.

How do the combined ratings for Victoria Derbyshire compare with what was in the same slot before, and with the simulcast hour that follows?

Wow the ticker and logo just flashed on and off screen for about 15 seconds, every half a second it switched between being on screen to being just solid black to being no ticker at all. Quite strange, never seen it before.

Ticker is flickering rapidly on Outside Source tonight. Not happy about the leap second?

Given that it is presented by a 'personality' rather than a standard newsreader, comes from a fully manned studio, has its own production team, produces its own reports, regularly goes on 'roadtrips' that require the booking out of venues other than Studio B. I would say substantially more than a rolling news bulletin which actually fulfills the BBC News Channel remit rather than that of the ITV Morning schedule and is substantially more value for money.

Out of interest what are the viewing figures for Victoria Derbyshire compared to the previous BBC Two and BBC News slot - because I'm assuming that the previous repeats and BBC News programming were far more cost effective per viewer than their replacement, which has got a terrible slot at best without trying to compete with ITV's superior expertise in human interest crap.

There been all sorts of things happening with the ticker lately, I've seen it judder, and disappear on occasion over the past week or so.
