The big question is what will happen at 19:00 GMT.

If the problems aren't resolved, I would assume World News will join the News channel for the evening? If the problems continue into the night, it could mean that overnights come from E I suppose.

Or World use A?

There will be a lot of rights issues over use of pictures, content and editorial, so rather than compromise the Six its best let Red Bee Presentation look after things while studios are out of action. Also you don't know how much connectivity has been lost, so don't assume that 'covering' parts of the Six is even remotely possible.

Which would then lead to a simulcast at 9 as the NC decamp from E to A usually, for 10 rehearsals.

Would be interesting, how will they do Newsday with the camera shot from E? I assume BBC Four will simulcast WN still as that bulletin is broadcast domestically. If the problems continue into tomorrow morning, WN have practically a free use of E till 11am (except the 45 minutes between Breakfast and Victoria).

I was under the impression (possibly wrongly) that studio B is also not in operation, hence why Global didn't air earlier - which would affect VD as that programme also comes from B.

Come to think of it, it could also affect Newsnight which also uses B.

Anyway, that's all speculation - let's see what happens.

We will have to wait and see. As Media Boy has said we have no idea how widespread this issue is - and believe me from experience networking issues can be incredibly complicated to fault find. The other thing we also don't know is how NBH has been designed at the network level. Insiders have previously advised that there is some physical separation of studios to avoid all being affected by certain physical/electrical issues.

Isn't Studio V's gallery in the same area as the galleries for some of the affected news studios? Any One Show issues expected?

During periods of Breaking News WN have covered the 6 without problems and hasn't crashed out for ads. I agree though we don't know the extent of the outages.

If that's the case the One Show and Newsnight could make for interesting viewing for pres geeks.

True! We will see what happens tonight and tomorrow morning. It is possible though that they may resolve the issues in B quicker if they are easier to find.

During breaking news most of the programme is that breaking news, you don't tend to have chunks of sports highlights etc that would give rights issues.

False start and a re start of two different recorded weather bulletins on World at the BOTH. Three seconds apart.
