I'm guessing they had some questionable market research saying that if they'd used the normal studio it would have put people off watching it and made it less accessible.

And predictably it was going to be using BBC One branding rather than News (not even an end credit.)

The national headlines seemed reasonable, if anything our local bulletin was slightly more 'dumbed down', as the weather copy went along the lines of it - "its going to be very cold tonight [slight pause] so you'll need to scrape the ice off your windscreens in the morning."

They could really do with an extra 30 seconds or so and losing a trail. But that won't happen.

It was like a time warp! Has CSO progressed so slowly that Kate has to have a green halo around her head?

Pictures are cool. I find it interesting that they used CSO rather than the studio corner of the pilot.

To be honest that picture near the start is one of the better bits, it was when they got onto the stories that it looked the worst. Have they gone for CSO rather than the studio corner because it's cheaper?

Studio corner looked much better.

Agreed, against the black it looked horrendous!

Those pics show it in a much better way than it actually was. There was green noise around a lot of the picture, not just Kaplinsky2

Anyways, the content itself was good i think, and local was all around good. Surprised there wasn't even a "Next a quick news summary" after Mastermind though.
