When is Gosling expecting?

And why is it Jane Hill seems to get sidelined all the time? Most annoying.

Maybe Jane is happy with her current arrangements. With regards to Kate maybe we will see her present afternoon shifts when someone is off, possibly presenting the 5 at times. There is also the possibility that she could spend time reporting for BBC News. Plus Kate will be working on other projects I think including Panorama, so although we may not be seeing her on screen it is possible she is working hard off camera on this.

So presumably she'll be doing something on News 24 later in the day because it's pretty stupid to keep the 1pm presenter around for 7 hours to present a 90-second summary.

I see absolutely no reason why Huw Edwards couldn't do it.

Does it have to be a live broadcast? Could be pre recorded around 6pm.

Doesn't network news always have to be live?

We might expect it to be, doesn't HAVE to be does it?

Ofcom says.
Thats why Central we're fined for pre-recording their late night bulletin a few years ago.

And what if more news breaks? the pre-record won't be up to date so it would be pretty useless. It may only be for 60 seconds, but it still makes the world of difference.

and what about sian Sad she could cover for the one instead of doing the breakfast shift, I know she's cover for the six that's only one day per week. To me she's more senior than Kate and has been around a long time. Do feel disappointed for Jane tho. Seems sometimes as tho loyalty counts for nothing.

But the six is more senior than the one!

I suspect that Louise will move to mornings (as she did briefly earlier in the year) and become the main cover for Breakfast. Sadly I doubt Carrie will move to 24 permanently, unless they're planning a new schedule for when they move to N6.

Sadly, Sophie takes a long time off when she's on maternity leave, which is good for her family life but not for her career. I think we may be dumped with Kate permanently on the one (like showcased with Kaplinsky on the six) leaving Sophie god knows where!

I'm really please to see Kate's profile rising higher and higher - she comes across as a genuinely nice person and she is by far my favourite on the Beeb at the moment.

Ofcom don't regulate the BBC, the rules are diffrent.

The BBC wouldn't pre-record a news bulletin though because of the obvious problems that would bring up eventually!

Hang on - haven't people said the 8pm starts on Monday? Well if that's so, how comes she's on Breakfast on the 10th and 17th of December?

I'd have preferred to see Sian leave breakfast and move to the six, covering for George on Fridays or during the week, in addition to the 8pm and the one. Even better Sian present the One and Six Mon-Thurs, with Kate (or someone) presenting both on Fridays and the 8pm bulliten.
