I presume this is in readiness for the new pooling arrangement on BBC One. If what is being said over on the other thread is right, Jon Sopel is moving to Breakfast (and maybe from the N24 set) so changes would been needed at N24.

I don't think Jon will be getting up early but he won't have such a late night Laughing

I think Jon could join the rota, because he has done the Six a few times earlier this year. Of course, that doesn't mean anything I suppose.

I think Jon could join the rota, because he has done the Six a few times earlier this year. Of course, that doesn't mean anything I suppose.


He did the Six once in 2003 I belive - certainly none in 2004 - this year it has just been George, Dermot, Bill and Darren.

I still think Jon Sopel is being lined up to replace Andrew Marr as political editor. Rumours go around every now and then that Marr is leaving after the election, and Jon Sopel has a very strong political background.

It maybe wasn't this year, but he has certainly done it more than once.

I presumed that that meant that Jon was going to be doing the 4-7 shift from the New Year but you may be right. We're have to wait and see Razz

Is anyone leaving/joining News 24?

P.S. Jon did the six twice last year and didn't he do it during the virtual set era on occasion too?

I never thought of the 4-7 shift on N24 - Nicky could have meant that.But as you say we'll have to wait and see.

And as for him on the Six - i forgot he did a bit in the virtual era.

He also did Breakfast with Gillian Joseph.

Was rather nice to see David back - he was doing this slot around 7 years ago! I must say Gillian Joseph also seemed like a capable presenter and was handling (the admitedly slightly less intense and dramatic) agenda well. I think she has more than enough to move from regional to national.

So, has David now left Reporting Scotland, or is he just doing seasonal coverage on n24?

Also, whatever happened to Brenda Paterson (ex Reporting Scotland, who also appeared for a while on N24)??
