BBC News 24: Presentation discussion

I think they do pre-record interviews occasionally as sometimes the presenter of the bulletin will say, 'a little earlier I spoke to'... However this is the first time I'd seen them record an interview for the Ten in N6 which was shown live on News 24 at the same time. Normally I assume they just record it in N6 without it being live at the same time.

Cock-up at the 1600 TOTH. The weather finished and there was obviously no VT ready to play. The head bed was played with the animated globe running in the background, then into a FULL countdown.

Shame nobody captured it.

For how long have they, at the weekends, been coming oout of the bottom of the hour sting to a tractor cam shot before the presenter. I've never seen them do that before, and I counted it at least twice on Sunday at 1/2 2 and 3.

Is this new, or am I just showing how infrequently I watch?

Probably the same director at 2.30 and 3.30 and they felt like a change?

I realise that, but I was unsure since I don't watch the news channel that often.

We've just had about five minutes of trailers on N24. BBC One were to simulcast N24 for the 3.55pm bulletin but looks like the rugby over ran. The weather ended about 3.54 and then we saw promos until N24 were straight to Peter Sissons at 4 (no countdown) saying something about "we'll bring you the news when we're joined by BBC One in a few minutes".

Nice to see Peter on BBC One though.

Presumably there was no breaking news to handle, so Sissons returned to his normal newsreading glory instead of stuttering over every other word that there was.

Someone really needs to stick some grease onto whatever track that camera runs. The noise of if winding back is more and more noticeable these days.
