Why couldn't they have just simulcast the forecast from BBC1?


Also, after the "BBC1" bulletin did Maxine continue on News 24 as she ended the BBC1 bulletin as if she was, but as it was heading up to the hour I assumed they'd take the weather as well and then start again at noon.

Maxine said "Your watching BBC News 24, now the weather with Dan Corbett."

I thought it sounded strange but if they hadn't of done that, there would have been a pause before the weather could be run to ensure a clean out for BBC One. Also there was no mention that we were going to be joined by BBC One viewers, but Maxine was talking almost right up to the opt.

Ben Brown did the early evening bulletin. Rather straight forward being on the hour. Do we know whether they are likely to phase out the use of different presenters for the BBC One weekend bulletins? Surely that would save some cost?

Not sure if it is me but has the font size for the live DOG increased in size today?

I see Peter Sissons is evidently not a fan of BBC News on your mobile - he ended the how to sign up to it with "or perhaps you dont want to sign up and just have a quiet afternoon instead".

Then went on to fluff up who was on at seven frantically shuffling papers and umming and erring until someone put him out of his misery telling him Jon Kay and Sophie "Lowe" would be on at 7

Jon Kay seems to have his laptop a little too close to him today. It appears to be providing a red glow to his jacket.

Earlier he said something along the lines of: "or you can go directly to bbc.co.uk/news on your mobile, thats if you can work out how to do it".

His "senior" moments are always amusing after a hard day at work

Just at the end of the BBC One news summary someone walked into the closing shot then stepped back thinking they were out of shot -they weren't though.

No surprise two weather forecasts, one for News 24 and one for BBC One - by different forecasters as well.

Think that happened last weekend as well....with the same person walking into shot!!

Well you would like to think she would learn! What is she their to do anyway?

Not sure...floor manager? Maybe wanting to get Jane and Sean off as soon as possible, to get Sophie and Jon back on for the 10:30 News 24 headlines.

And anyone else notice Sophie Long was in the newsroom, behind the screen and to Jane's right at the start of the late news...
