I was told that N9 wasn't in TV Centre. That obviously isn't true though.

It's not in the *news* centre - it's a little further along.

They're in N9 for the 2130 back half. Takes lots of organising, so they're having a dummy run this week before doing it for real next week. It gives the Ten some rehearsal time. Sorry to burst the speculation bubble Smile

What takes a lot of organising? Why can't the Ten rehearse in TC7 as usual?

I don't think newsmonkey was being very clear in what he was saying.

So the merry go round of presenters that we had this evening is to be repeated every evening. I must say it looked a little rushed at the end, I'm guessing the plan is for a long weather forecast to allow the BBC World News presenter time some time to settle in.

The Ten will be coming from N6 (the home of the BBC News Channel) from Monday, but the Ten uses a lot more choreographed big board stuff and headline sequences than the One. They asked, therefore, for a bit of rehearsal time - the knock on is that the News Channel moves out for half an hour before the Ten

What, just for this week, or is this going to be a permanent thing? Will the 9.30-10 slot be from N9 (later NCool permanently?

But why do they have to move? N24 is normally in N8. There's nothing else going on in there. Why have N24 moved out just now?

That's the bit I'm not entirely clear about... I'm not sure whether it's just while the News Channel and the Ten get settled in their new home, or whether it will continue indefinitely (with the Ten rehearsing in N6 and the News Channel moving to N8, World's new home...). I think it's the latter, but the plans are rather fluid.

I think you've missed the whole studio shuffle that's happenning...

Will the 2130 back hour will decamp to TC7 from next week, or will it borrow N8 from World?

They are using these few days to practise so that they are used to what happens in that half hour before adding in being in a new studio - or at least I presume thats the thinking. Getting all the team comfortable with the idea. Also N8 and N9 are closer so provides a bit more time while they are adapting.

So the reason N24 is in N9 is so they're comfortable for being in N6 from next week.

News Channel is moving to N6 , so the Ten can't rehearse in there because News Channel will be in there. So, this is the point. Will News Channel always move to N9 before 10:00.

No, they're doing all sorts of pilots off-air for that. They're in N9 so they're comfortable with, well, being in N9. To clarify, from Monday they'll be decamping to N9 from the new N6 for the 2130 back half to allow the Ten to rehearse. That will continue until the revamped N8 (24's home and World's new home) is open for business.

I understand now. They're in N9 to get ready for being in there for a number of weeks. Do we know when BBC World will move into N8?
