Well I for one certainly believed he was alive once again. I wasn't aware they had tape recorders these days.

Chris Lowe off for the last week or so - holiday or has he left? Has to be said while I like Chris, I can't stand him on weekend N24 evenings and both Adam Parsons and Jon Kay have been much better with Sophie...

I like Chris Lowe - I think he's great on News 24. He must have been presenting Friday-Sunday evenings for at least 8 years now. He was definitely doing them in 2000, if not before. He was always paired up with either Anna Jones or Gwenan Edwards.

I like Chris Lowe as well.

He was great that time he did the Sunday Ten on BBC1

He's one of these people who doesn't put the 'energy' into reading the same news over and over and over! Imagine someone like Jon Sopel, Simon McCoy or even - dare I say it - Tim Willcox!

I'd like to see him on weekend BBC 1 news as well as World Smile

Well, to be fair, he is 'old school'. He's from the same era as Peter Sissons and Philip Hayton. Newsreading has changed an awful lot since then and once you get used to one style, it's difficult to change. All of the presenters you mentioned are considerably younger and so have a more modern style. I think it is nice to have the contrast between those younger presenters and the mature ones like Sissons and Lowe. It makes News 24 more interesting.

True... I'd just like to see N24 be made up of more 'modern', 'energetic' presenters in a 'modern' and 'fast' world of news with more 'experienced' journalists on the nationals, such as Sissons, Low and [dare I say it] Huw Edwards.

The presenters should be allowed to have a more casual and friendly look, instead of all in suits, like they did when News 24 launched!

Although saying that the way the men dressed back then was horrible! Donned jackets aren't something worn lots in offices, which would surely be the idea behind it - to make it seem more 'real'...

What's wrong with these?

No, I'm glad they saw sense and ditched that. It looks as if they're just presenting News 24 during their coffee break. It's just too informal.
