Well, he got a bit embarrased in his first moment with Joanna on the phone, he spieled off 2 long questions about the Duke of Ed, both answered with a curt 'no'
Has to be said I thought Nick Owen was great earlier, definately an asset to the beeb! I really like seeing Nick Owen, Tim Wilcox and Maxine Mawhinney (sorry about spelling) all on as regular weekend presenters - all very good in my view. Peter Sissons has his bad moments but all in all is still alright, but then Chris Lowe and Anita McVeigh ruin it!
I've never seen a pair with less chemistry! Sophie Long is better than Anita, and I thought she worked much better last night with Stuart Flinders.
Jon Kay making what I think is a first N24 appearance tonight with Sophie Long. Seems good so far.
I remember Jon Kay presenting News 24 during the first china red and cream set era, i.e. between 1999 and 2002. He's probably done it again since then. Certainly not his first time.
Would be very welcome to see more of Jon Kay and Stuart Flinders in for cover. It would also be nice to have Tony Campion back - he's also excellent. Fridays are a particular day of need - Tim is nearly always doing 2 shifts on a Friday now, and if he doesn't, it usually means Louise & Maxine are paired up for one shift.
It would be great to have Peter Dobbie return to News 24 sometime soon, too - he's another excellent male presenter.
