Robin Bailey doing the sports news this afternoon - good to see him back...must have been at leaat 6 months since I've seen him do the News 24 sport, maybe longer....

I don;t know if he regularly appears on BBC World any more either....?

He hasn't been on BBCW for ages either.

Sophie Long being given more exposure on N24

I really don't like her voice, I find her a little bit patronizing

Good to see Jane Hill with Ben Brown today .... I think double headed ten with Jane and Sophie would be fantastic

Nice to see Mr Owen doing the 5 'o clock news, nice to see him somewhere other than early mornings on weekends

Hmmm! Was just about to turn the telly on and watch the 5, but won't now! Think he's too lightweight for the 5. I'm not saying he lacks experience, anyone knows he's been around for ages and ages, but he's just a bit too cheerful and, well, nice.

This is a bloke who has presented News at Ten when it was in its heyday and is probably one of the most engaging news presenters on TV today. What's so special about this 5 o'clock news programme, anyway? It only goes out on News 24 and is hardly on the cutting edge. If someone as lightweight as Emily Maitliss can do it, then anyone can!

The Five segment is in my opinion the best innovation that N24 has had in ages. I really find it very communicative and the single header gives it a touch of gravitas that the usual daytime two heads lacks.

That's fine, and I agree, but I still don't see why Moz thinks it is too much for Nicholas Owen Confused

I don't think it's "too much" for him, it's just that he's not sophisticated enough for it. Emily Matliss handles it beautifully with intelligence and charm (as does Huw). Nick just reads the autocue in a silly sing-song voice.

Since when has the one who looks like pete burns who does 60 seconds on BBC Three been doing entertainment 24?
