Wink Guess who's doing a second shift again today.

At least Maxine seems to have reclaimed her Saturday 10-1 slot!! Very Happy
Tim's been doing 2 + shifts on a Friday (not going off air until 00:30) and then reappearing at 10am the same morning (Saturday) for ages now! While he is more than capable, I can only take so much Tim Willcox! Gets a bit annoying after a while when, at shift change, he keeps popping up again and again! Rolling Eyes

what is the extra gadget on the desk when Peter Sisons is there? It must be 'his toy' - never see it with anyone else? Looks like a silver travel alarm clock!

I often wonder that - it reminds me of a clock, as though he cannot see the clock behind the camera, but it can't be, of course - what is it?

When this discussion came up last time I think it was revealed it is a travel alarm clock!

Think it is because Peter has poor vision and can't see the clock at the back of the studio if I remember rightly!

Laughing Well I was right about my guess, but wrong about thinking it can't be that!

Strange, that he can read the autocue, but not the clock!

Well, the camera is right in front of him. The clock is on the wall some distance away.

Couldn't he just use the clock on the laptop instead of bringing another one in?

I imagine the clock on the laptop would take him even longer to read. Some of the presenters do seem to use it, but they do take a few seconds to read it.

Given his age, I wouldn't be surprised if he has reading glasses. To see the tiny clock on a computer he would probably have to use those. I suspect the travel alarm clock is suitably large enough for him to be able to see normally.

I cannot believe i have just seen James Dagwell present a News bulletin! (saw it via a link in the World thread) When did this happen? How long has he been doing news?
