Some nice chemistry between Louise Minchin, Jon Sopel and Dan Walker this afternoon, discussing relative ages and sportsmen.

And also good to see Jon and Louise actually on together for once - they haven't been for months.

Its the best partnership on the channel, and I enjoyed watching these two this afternoon.

Can someone take the time to write out what the current News24 rota / pairings are - or appear to be?

Every time I switch on recently, everyone seems to be randomly presenting different shifts??

From what I can see.....
Weekends are pretty much as they ever were, weekdays are a bit hit and miss but....

8:30-11: Simon McCoy & Carrie Gracie (female cover on a Monday as Carrie rarely works on this day)
11-2: Matthew and Jane (who seem to usually both work 5 days)
2-5: Jon and Louise officially.....but recently Ben Brown & Sophie Long mostly IIRC
5pm - Gavin Esler has been covering Huw a lot recently
7-10: Rachel Schofield and Matthew / Tim / Manish (Mon-Wed) with Anitta McVeigh doing Thursday (and Friday-Sunday)
10:30-12:30: Chris has been doing his regular shift, with Tim on a Friday.

Stuart Flinders presented again last Sunday too, as well as the Sunday before, which nobody flagged up.
Also, nice to see Tim has done the '5' for the last 2 Fridays (which equates to 3 News24 shifts in a day, for him on a Friday)
I'd like to know why they are intent on displacing either Matthew or Jon onto the evening shift to allow Ben daytime exposure...doesn't make any sense.

Hi John
Yes - I'm a Manchester fella myself. I watch NWTonight when I get chance, although there's a lot that I don't like about it and needs changing. But I was really pleased for Stuart when he first popped up doing those 2 weeks of cover with Louise, and it's been great to see him back on the last couple of weekends - he really deserves it - he's been putting in the years, days and hours and NW Tonight for years now - fantastic for him.

Overexposure epitomized. Why do they persist with this guy? There are many other alternatives.

and guesswhat? It's 1000 and he's back, now I like Willcocks' presentation despite his left seat control issue while covering the Bhutto assassination, but this is becoming overkill.
