Really naff handling of tonights late news for BBC One on News 24 just then. Just went straight into it without warning. You could also still see Anita sat there on the opening shot even though she is not part of the bulletin. Is this what the future of the BBC is going to be like? Cut & Shove bodge it jobs?

I must admit I was watching 1 & N24 & noticing that the N24 presenters still appearing on the usual set very close to the BBC1 time & wondering 'Is BBC1 some how having a separate bulletin?'

Surely Chris & Anita are fairly well known to BBC1 viewers through their reporting anyway, so they could've done the simulcast anyway!

(or failing that swop the N24 shifts so the likes of Tim Wilcox or anyone who also broadcasts on BBC1 were there anyway, instead of bringing in a separate presenter just for 15 mins!)

What about the weather afterwards?

Jay Wynne on BBC1, while Susan Powell was on N24.

They were both saying the same thing at the same time!

Why didn't both channels cut to the one forecaster?

(I assume N24 was on tape, while BBC1 was being routed via presentation.)

I'm not sure about Anita, but Chris Lowe has definitely presented the weekend news recently. I have a feeling it was a Sunday 10 o Clock News some time last year.

When News 24 and BBC News move back to N6 are we likely to see the News 24 presenter present the weekend bulletins, are the longer evening bulletins likely to remain with a separate presenter?

The weather could well have been live, as there are two studios at the BBC Weather centre for television. Depends whether there was a live bulletin on World at the time.

Was quite impressed with Stuart's performance this afternoon...in only his second (I think) appearance on News 24, he dealt very well with 2 major breaking news stories - definitely not a typical Sunday afternoon shift.

Also good to see Peter coming on a bit early to help out with some of the interviews.

Stuart previously did 2 weeks of cover on weekdays a couple of months ago. Great to see him asked back.

Carrie Gracie and Sophie Long paired up this morning.

Sophie seems to be everywhere at the moment, she's doing more shifts than Tim.

Not quite - Tim's being doing BBC World morning shifts the past few days. I presume he's also been on News 24?

Yea...I think he was on last night 7-10 with Anitta.

Anybody any idea where Tim went at 4.30ish?

EDIT: Didn't occur to me he'll probably be presenting the 5 hour.

So Tim did World this morning, then the 2-5 on News 24, then the '5' News Hour...inc. Film 24 - and presumably is back for his usual Fri late night after the '10' on News 24 - quite a marathon day.

I've never seen someone work so much on a news channel.

Yes, he's done the 0800-1200 shift on BBC World every day since Tuesday, IIRC.
