BBC News 24

It is intresting that the minutes last so much longer in LA compared to the uk, when News 24 just went live it was 10:24 local time and 19:24 in the UK, by the time the Live had finished it was 19:27 here, but still 10:24 local time there.

As regard to an earlier comment, this was not my own personal view, but an arguement which could be given. I think it is unfair that we have to pay the lisence fee here, but the rest of the world get News 24 for free. However it is just not BBC News 24 this happens to, BBC One, and BBC Two are available in parts of northern Europe for free, and all the channels can be recieved in most of Europe as long as you have a big enough satalite dish. I think it is one thing we will have to put up with for now.

Yes, you pay for those channels through your multichannel service provider package charges.




No, we don't. The BBC World Service is funded by a grant-in-aid from the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, covering the cost of radio services. While there have been numerous calls for the FCO to provide a similar funding structure, at least partially, for BBC World (formerly BBC World Service Television, of course), World remains commercially funded and operated, with all monies required for its operation coming from commercial sources, including advertising revenues and BBC Worldwide.

Well yes why not but it seems she's turning into Tim Wilcox! Anywhere and everywhere!

Now although she's better than Sackur (though that doesn't take much) - I'd much rather see Zeinab there more regularly.

Did you see her this afternoon with Nicholas Owen on 2-5? She seemed to be dominating proceedings, I think she is getting used to working on her own again!

I take your point about popping up everywhere, but she is not nearly as annoying as la willcox!

She also did the 5 o'clock news. I actually thought that Nicholas was dominating the 2 - 5 slot at one point, paticularly after the story broke about Tony Blair's annoucement tomorrow, Nicholas was rambleing at one point and Emily you could see was trying to get to the guest waiting in Central London.

I certainly did see her earlier - thus sparking my comment before.

And she may not be as bad as Wilcox (yet...) but has appeared on far more shows, the 1, the 10, weekend news, N24, Newsnight, HARDtalk, Breakfast.

But thankfully not on the same day, that truly would be willcox inspired!
