Wayhay - News 24 actually using their graphics properly earlier on for the embryo announcement.

Firstly the ticker had COMING UP as it's header, then some text explaining that the announcement was due any moment, and this just repeated over and over, instead of how they usually use it for breaking news when it's just tagged on the start of the usual ticker text.

Then they used the breaking news strap to bring the news halfway through the sport.

All this while Sky were about to go to a break, without mentioning the news, so it was a good few minutes before Sky viewers found out!

Wonder why the laptops are different models?
Anyone know what's on them?
Can they update the autocue from there whilst a report is being played out? or would that be done by someone behind the scenes?

I noticed yesterday that Peter Sissons got half way through reading out a press release and it just stopped, he hadn't printed the 2nd sheet off. bit of a boob!

Hey there Very Happy
The laptops are both running ENPS (Electronic News Production System) that allows the presenters to ammend their scripts, read the newswires and access their emails etc. They can update the script whenever they like and access all other relevant scripts from BBC News. I can't help but notice the two different models. They used to be just 2 Dell Inspirons but one of them must be out of action.

I noticed the diffrent laptops last week, but when they handed to sport, the sports presenter had the usual Dell laptops Confused Cant they just swap the smaller silver one for that? meaning two of the same laptops again.

I'd blame the dodgy German company who maintain them...

Why does Karin Giannone constantly look like she's trying to duck whenever she presents N24?

Out of interest would sky news also use a similar system?
