It has to be said I thought the BBC had got the idea that Ben Brown was awful, and that's why they moved Joanna there (or 1 reason) so why are they putting him on the Six. Someone has lost their mind if you ask me

He's very very good.

I think you're confusing him with someone else.

I think you're confusing yourself for someone with a brain.

Sorry if I think that someone who's been reporting from the field (and in a distinguished manner) for years, and so knows what they're on about, is suitable to be on a rolling news channel. Also sorry if I find him relaxed, confident, amusing and trustworthy.

Go on, for a giggle, tell me someone who you think is better so I can have a good laugh! Just don't say Alistair Yates or I might die laughing!

really? I find him tedious, boring and charmless.

Perhaps you are mistaking him for the desk, it has far more personality.

The rather fab Jon Sopel would be my answer to that.

Jon's good, but a touch smug and full of his self importance sometimes. Sometimes he just seems to be showing off for the benefit of Louise.

it looks like they still need to use Big Teddy to generate the LIVE aston, because with Vizrt Graphics, they can't take the aston off when they go to a different shot, hence it why it still ends up on screen for a second or two extra even though the newsreader has gone on to another story!

I don't know, to me since they've been using Vizrt the live bug had been keyed to the OB and disappears immediately when they return to the studio. Perhaps the problem is with split screen reports?

Ten o Clock News Hour on BBC News 24 delayed due to football, and because of Iraq 4 Years On special reports this week News 24 aren't opting out. A headline round up on News 24 before the footie finishes and BBC One are ready,

There used to be a problem with the split screen DVE adding an unworkable amount of delay so they had to do some sort of workaround. Don't know if that's still the case, this was back in the flags era.

I see Martine Croxall was presenting with Chris Lowe on Saturday night, bit of a change from doing overnights on World

How do Sky News manage it then, they use Vizrt too don't they?

News 24 opt out of the Six - with both Brian & Joanna anchoring due to the major breaking news re 7/7. Never seen them do this before, not with two presenters.
