I'm guessing Sportsround is going to be a pre-recorded this weekend. To allow the studio to be ready for the news at 12 on BBC One and I'd assume on News 24 - though which background will they use? I assume the one we have already seen today, otherwise would be odd to News 24 viewers.
Sportsround appeared to be live as they had competition results at the end, though the whole programme was very tightly shot using the right hand corner of the studio. The opening to the news at 12 was straight into a close up shot with Maxine sat at the desk. Is it possible that both programmes were set up to go one after another? With just a change in the background.

No it was deffinetly Live, because they had a phone in. The news is just using tight camera angles. The London backdrop will be used for the national news bulletins this evening, it is just the summary's which will have the N24 background.
By the way - can I say:
News 24 will be coming from N6 this weekend from 0600.
Its because of Phase II of the Electrical Testing.
NO SET CHANGES ARE HAPPENING - N8 will be SHUT!

Can they use the N8 gallery when in N6? i.e. can they keep using their new graphics or do they have to use a simpler version from N6?
No routing make it hell and anyway kit in N8 is turned OFF for the testing.
VIZ is available in N6 but not under aurtomation control so expect simpler versions of stuff and all VIZ output done manually by a text producer.
Well they seem to be working now - full normal News 24 graphics now from N6.
Its the awful backdrop that they used on the last occasion. I don't know why they can't just use the nationals background for News 24, and the actual Breakfast background for breakfast - they use the graphics. Just makes more sense. The only problem I could see is that at some point in the day they need to switch between day, dusk and night backgrounds.

which begs the question why cant they use VIZ in the normal news programmes from N6!
at 1am this morning, they had a little problem with the BBC WORLD graphic been there, the BBC NEWS 24 and clock then was quickly faded in, are they just overlaying the BBC NEWS 24 and clock at night?
I've just seen N24. The clock looks OK - definitely divided from the ticker but not making it look
too
cluttered. However, IMO they should use the nationals background.
Have you noticed how the ticker now resembles this? Maybe that's where they got the inspiration from... spooky...
