Your right! Charle Stait is a good newsreader, he is one of those rare bbc newsreaders that can react and adlib if a major breaking news story hits, the other guys who can do that IMO are Matthew Amrilliwalah (excuse spelling of surname) and John Sopel.
In the topic of graphics, the best news graphics are those that you are able to read sub-consciously and I think the new BBC ones are spot on.

Hmmm, he's OK, but does have his little overused sayings though. "Yes, exactly on that point...", "...and let's get the headlines because that is our top story..." and others!
On another point...
A lot of us were expecting, I'm sure, some grey used in the new N24 graphics, continuing its use on the 1/6/10. I think they
should
have used grey for the main subject straps, reserving red tops for breaking news...
I don't know whether it's just the way you have done it, but that looks totally boring as grey. Perhaps if there was a tower still to break up the grey bits, but I think this is way to black-and-white!
I've noticed a rather odd behaviour on the main strap which seems to crop up quite a lot, when text wipes on it in two passes. Some characters seem to get stuck on the first pass, and then they wipe on again to fill in the gaps. Despite my awful attempt to explain that, does anyone know the story behind this?

I agree - Charlie Stayt was very steady at the weekend. I'm pleased he's finally signed with the BBC. It was very odd seeing him popping up on N24 one week and Sky the next and not really performing in the house style of either.
Matthew umms and arrs quite a bit when handling breaking news. I think Juian Worricker is good at it, but he doesn't get on air as much as the others, unfortunately.
good coverage from Birmingham yesterday on the 6 and 10 - A presenter in Birmingham, one at the police station, one at Scotland Yard, " reports, and on the 10 someone at the ministry of defence
This is the sort of coverage we expect from the beeb
Is there a reason why Joanna Gosling has been presenting News 24 on her own this evening since at least 930 - only turned over then. Has she been on her own all evening?
