Well, more technical mishaps this afternoon. Someone seems to have broken the ticker.
Text now doesn't seem to stroll across, 'Headlines' will animate on and off and no text will appear. The tickers been taken on and off air now at least 9 times and it's still not functioning.
At one point all the graphics froze with the German Chancellor being called Auschwitz. Seemed to then rely on a back-up system that just faded on and off with simple astons. Clock and bug seemed to vanish as well just leaving the red background.
Well, 1 O'Clock with Charlie and the headline sequence seems to be off to a bad start.

Also of note, at the TOTH at 12.00, the ticker was stuck on screen and refused to animate off, and was therefore present for the weather, trails, countdown, headlines, and titles. At 12:30 BOTH, the '24' sting played out, but the screen was black for the entire sting - audio did play correctly however. The headlines sequence audio and stories didn't work properly either, and Tim apologised and 'hoped that our technology was working better than theirs'.
Seems like a few glitches at the moment. Also the clock now seems to be slightly too small, in my opinion, now they have reduced the size of the text.
Also the astons for Dateline London need updating to be in line with the new graphics, and it would look much nicer if they added a 'Dateline London' subject box above the 'BBC News 24' on the bar - tidies up what is otherwise an aston that looks just too short.

There are still some adjustments going on. 14.00, no ticker again, but for the last 40 minutes or so, they've been using the original clock, the larger sized one, further to the edge of the screen.
They've just changed back to the small clock, positioned further in, at 14.03. I much prefer the larger text of the clock when it's further to the edge, looks much more balanced than the current compromise

to be fair he only skipped slightly because he misread the sentence.
I feel a lot of people on here are too mean to Sissons. I mean it could be worse, Andrew Symmonds could return.....

3 distinct things wrong all at the same time! How funny
1) The strap reads aby instead of baby
2) The music is skipping like a bad CD
3) The presenter is also skipping like a bad CD

Re: Peter Sissons - using him on the '5' news hour in place of Huw and on Fridays is a good move, I feel. It's a more structured hour of news which he does quite well. I think his marathon 13.00 - 19.00 on a Saturday should be cut to a 17.00 - 19.00, the same as his Sunday shift. That would break the day up more, give the viewer a more coherent afternoon of news, and give Tim another shift to do
