Well, OK the graphics might constitute 'good work'. But using CCTV footage from 2003 to illustrate a story being broadcast in 2007 ain't. At least it's better than the 1995 footage they persisted in using until recently.
Something's up. As the weather ended just before 2pm, Rob McElwee was left on for a couple of seconds longer than necessary. He raised his eyebrow, then tilted his head, in an effort to laugh off the situation.
Then, a promo for last year's World Cup on the BBC! I know News 24 is prone to headline packages getting messed up but this one's unusual.
Just turned on News 24 and noticed the the area where the clock is has been moved slightly. Now shows up better in widescreen (letterbox) format on my TV!

I thought it looked like it had changed, but put it down to watching on a different telly. The clock seems smaller and further to the right, whilst the ticker looks a little higher up.
I have to say that the new changes are a step in the right direction.
One problem I found with the last lot was the sheer size of them and the clutter they caused whereas these ones have cut down so a lot more can be seen. However, they cut down a little too much and initially the ticker and Live Bug were cut off of my screen though the changes have made it much better.
The graphics also appear a lot more versatile and modern with much more animation and smoother as well.
I really like the new headline bed as it is much more punchy than last time though I am disappointed the nationals haven't changed their bed yet.
I think that the countdown and title changes are alright but I think that they could grow tiresome after a while.
On the whole the graphics are looking good IMO.
Just saw that the mid day news on BBC One went out with the old opening credits. It then they didn't have any graphics on the BBC One version but did on News 24.
