What's happening with Emily Maitlis - is she now going to be popping up randomly on different shifts on N24?

Did she have a baby recently?

A slightly random thought (and diversion from rota-talk)...

I was just thinking it'd be nice to see the new gold swooshes on the titles incorporated in the countdown sequence at some point, replacing the existing red 'data streams'.

Whilst very lovely, the countdown has never really matched the titles, and this could be a nice way of tieing them together.

yes - i thought about that

that al jazzera {ie carnt spel) thing in the titles is begining to confuse me - theres no need for it to be there. I can just imagine it...

The countdown now looks even worse IMO. Even if it has been updated with new images (has it?), it still pretty much looks the same.

Yes - perhaps the swooshes could replace the data streams, bouncing off satellites and then finally all converging at TV Centre?

I'm also mildly disappointed that the Panorama and Newsnight titles haven't been updated to match this, but never mind...

They've never had generic corporate titles though

Newsnight did have a corporate set of titles, albeit not very noticeable - they were the ones before the existing ones. You could see the "N E W S N I G H T" flashing in the background in the obvious Lambie-Nairn style. (If you remember, these were replaced with place names on the One, Six, Nine and the Ten and also on N24.

I have a Philips UVSH widescreen TV. Is there any menu for setting the overscan on this?

Don't forget that if you do alter the overscan on any display, you'll need an accurate setup or test card to know what to adjust it to!
