And me! The comment about it not being his personal channel was spot on. A lot of people must tune in irregularly and only ever see him on it, and maybe put off because, as has been said, while he's not a bad newsreader, he's certainly got nothing going for him which is going to bring viewers to the channel.

Tim is not the only presenter working a double shift today. Martine Croxall presented The World Today this morning (and i presume European Breakfast shift on BBC World) and is now also on BBC News 24 this evening.

But that's on different channels so no-one minds.

Is it, oh I'm sorry! Never up at 5am. Technically it's not News 24 from 1am to 6am (some may even say 8.30) though, it's BBC World.

It never has been and never will be BBC World during the overnight period. News 24 is responsible for providing the news overnight to BBC World, not the other way round. Some of the overnight team nove over to the BBC World studio at some point during their shift to prepare for The World Today if they are not broadcasting from there during the night already.

you are correct - the team work for BBC News 24 not BBC World. It just happens the service is taken by both BBC World and News 24 - the team are also responsible for the back-half hours on News 24 - there is no presentation like BBC World.

Well, I have a feeling he's going to be back on News 24 later, since Jon is in Iowa and Ben is in Nairobi. News 24 really need a new male relief presenter now Julian's gone.
