What sort of ratings does News 24 normally get on 25th December?

Wonder why Dan Walker presented the 5 minute sport bulletin at 2:15 after Francis Collings had finished his shift an hour earlier, only for Amelia Harris to come on at 3:15 and present the sport for the next few hours....

Quite often there's more than one sports presenter working in the newsroom, especially on a day like today when there was a full football fixture list.

I'd be interested in knowing this aswell if anybody could shed any light. Cheers.

As noted in the Benzir Bhutto thread, the Christmas tree has returned for the third time, in the N8 newsroom, after being sporadically removed for simulcasting. Also, after an exhausting marathon of double shifts and holiday working, expect to see none other than Tim Willcox back again for the second time today after the '10'...

think when there's a breaking news story they should have a seasoned presenter anchoring the slot. Ok when it first breaks that can't always be practical but i've found it excruciating watching sangita meister over the last couple of days. N24 isn't the place to be giving reporters work experience on presenting imo.

I think Sangita Myska is quite good, and it's not as if it was her first appearance, she's been on loads this year. Also, her shift was on Friday morning, in between the news breaking the day before and the funeral, she was with Charlie Stayt, who must count as a seasoned presenter, and was only on for about an hour before Mike and Mishal took over for the funeral coverage.
Sure, if they'd put a complete unknown on the Thursday afternoon I'd have a problem, but this isn't really the same. Anyway, it was Christmas, I doubt there was a huge choice of presenters.

Looks like Dateline was pre-recorded today. Shot in the World 2nd studio.

Quite funny watching this man walk through the newsroom, and fall over. He seemed to trip over some wiring or something. Sorry about the bad image, I didn't have my capture card going. Anyone have a better capture of this?

On a different note when it was announced that Joanna was going on maternity leave did anyone say who was replacing her? I have a feeling it may be Karin, though I could be completely wrong. I've seen her twice in the evening in the past week and I think she'd be good.

Has Carrie been presenting rather than Kate in the mornings? Can't see the morning shift very often, so I don't know who's been on.
