Looks to me like News 24 are being slack and not removing the Christmas tree for overnight news, because to me it looks like they are slighly trying to hide it.
I noticed that myself. I take it BBC World News room has no tree so as to not offend parts of the world that don't celebrate any form of holiday can't see why they don't just move in there for the christmas, although I remember seeing on an Aunties Bloomers show, Santa appearing in the background on both News 24 and World a few years back.

I think its nonsense that World never makes a mention of Christmas on the day yet the other day you'd think there was a Christmas party at BBC World!

We even got Jonathan learning how to beat box!

World makes lots of mentions of Christmas. It just treats it as a news story rather than an excuse to cover the studio in decorations which mean nothing to many of its viewers.

Look out from lives from Bethlehem etc over the next few hours.

Why can't BBC World have a christmas tree in the newsroom then!? Even if it is so far away you can barely make it out lol

I don't understand why a Christmas tree would offend someone who doesn't celebrate Christmas. If someone is ofenden by it then he has a problem.
I'm not sure even if BBC World anchors say " Merry Christmas'' to their viewers.
CNN is much better with Christmas anyway.

It's nothing to do with offending anyone. It just doesn't mean anything to many of the viewers. Also its a bit odd leading on stories of fammine and earthquake form a studio trussed up like a fairy grotto.

Yes, a nice change to have a male relief presenter who isn't Tim! I wish we could see Jonathan more on News 24, he's very good.

Agreed - he's got a very dry (and funny) sense of humour.

ETA Just as I submit they change he dog and put back the clock and there is a load of News 24 plugs so that'll be a no then.
